The Carrie reference - when they were planning to set up Rose at the prom,
the pretty boy asked Foxy if they needed to get some pig's blood, which is
what was dumped on Carrie. It was one small reference, but I like that kind
of thing. The best thing about the Matrix was the inreferences, here are
two in case you missed them - when the Laurence and Keanu are first flying
through the underground tunnels the whole cockpit scene is directed just
like when Han and Luke are escaping from Tatooine in the Millenium Falcon;
and secondly - Keanu's big martial arts fight scene is full of Bruce Lee
moves, eg wiping blood from the mouth and leaving his leg sticking in the
air. A lot of people complained about how silly this scene was, without
realising it was Bruce. Since people in the Matrix were trained by
downloading information, wouldn't it make sense to download Bruce Lee as a
fighting prototype, and wouldn't films like Star Wars be implanted in your
mind? Or am I just thinking about things too much?
