I love teen flicks and teen tv.

Maybe I just never grew up, but I like other stuff as well, cheap horror and sf films, Hong Kong action, Japanese monster films, comedies. I have a diverse taste in films and tv. And you just can't have too much crap. Teen films reflect the cheapness, shallowness and sordidness of life so well. Life is about getting laid and little more, is it not? Which is probably why I prefer the tackiness and honesty of zines rather than the gloss and lies of magazines. The world needs more teen flicks, not more Spielberg/James Cameron hyped up trivial soul searching time wasters.

My favourite teen films are Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Massacre at Central High, Sure Thing, Airheads and Scream.

Massacre at Central High is a great seventies cheapie - the school is run by a small group of students, when a new student takes a dislike to this and their treatment of other students, so decides to kill off this ruling elite. After he kills them, the nerds who were persecuted take their place and become just as bad if not worse than the dead prats. One of the best things in the film is the fact there are no adults! Try to find it in your local video store.

Airheads is about some metal heads trying to get their demo tape played on air. My favourite part is actually hearing the song played at the end. It is a cover of a song by Reagan Youth, who were a mid-eighties punk band from the U.S. and seem like a weird choice for the film, but I liked it.
